This circuit reproduces the hybrid "germanium/silicon" version of the famous Big Muff. Compared to the more traditional silicon versions, in this case, the resulting sound is less compressed and more responsive to the touch variables. With the partially closed guitar volume knob, it tends to be less muffled, retaining a fairly wide range of rather unusual crunch sound on such a circuit. As many know, there are numerous versions of the Big Muff, most of which are equipped with four silicon transistors, but only very few versions with the germanium variant. This project is characterized by the particular combination of the stages of clipping with LED diodes, combined with two stages of pre-amplification to germanium that make the sound warm and natural.
