GERMANIUM CLASS A OVERDRIVE

This is a custom Class A Overdrive based on a similar circuit I built last summer called the G.T.O - Germanium Transistor Overdrive. It is a hybrid design consisting of the first two JFET gain stages of the Class A Overdrive which are based on the preamp of a 1624T/Model 24 Supro. The third gain stage however is replaced by a germanium transistor gain stage. The result is a warmer, spongier sounding overdrive with a slight smooth fuzz tone at higher gain settings. The new bass and treble controls allow for a broader range of tones.
